Grossmont proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 14) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Helix Scotties 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Foothillers: when they faced off against the Scotties back in April, they had to take a 3-0 loss.
Sahara Roope made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Roope was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February.
Roope wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Saraya Roope, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
