Football Recap: Superior Falls Short of Mogollon in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Superior and Mogollon squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Superior had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Mustangs, falling 72-30. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Superior still got an impressive performance from Antonio Lopez, who threw for 331 yards and four touchdowns. Lopez's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 315 passing yards.

Mogollon found their leader in sophomore Jett Reidhead, who rushed for 145 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes. Reidhead got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 92 yards. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Porter, who gained 76 total yards and two touchdowns.

Superior's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Mogollon, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Superior does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mogollon, they will challenge Hayden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' defense better be ready for this one: the Lobos have averaged an impressive 43.4 points per game this season.
