Baseball Recap: Lynbrook's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Lynbrook took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Monta Vista, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Matadors 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Matadors back in April, they had to take a 11-2 defeat.

Cameron Chao was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Chao was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Akira Gok was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Sit, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Lynbrook's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-17. As for Monta Vista, they dropped their record down to 13-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Lynbrook will challenge MacDonald at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Condor at the right time seeing as the Condor are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Monta Vista, they will square off against Gunn at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
