Basketball Recap: Harvard Comes Up Short

If Harvard was riding high fresh off their 57-23 takedown of Fenton on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets took a 44-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plano Reapers on Saturday. The Hornets have struggled against the Reapers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Plano's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cami Nunez, who posted 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Nunez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jailyn Brown, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Harvard's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Plano, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-7.

Looking ahead, Harvard will finish 2025 at home by hosting Alden-Hebron at 1:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Plano, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Kaneland at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
