Recap: Paraclete Spirits vs. Corona del Mar Sea Kings
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Paraclete Spirits, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 40-21 to Corona del Mar.
When it comes to explaining why Paraclete lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyler Soles. Despite the final result, he rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 235 yards and a touchdown.
Annett Kaleb was a one-man wrecking crew for Corona del Mar as he threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Kaleb is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Dorsett Stecker also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.
Paraclete has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Corona del Mar, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Paraclete does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Corona del Mar will head out on the road to face off against Santa Barbara at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. The timing is sure in Santa Barbara's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Corona del Mar has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
