Westran never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the South Shelby Cardinals. Considering the Hornets have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Westran is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for South Shelby, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Coming up, Westran will be playing in front of their home fans against New Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South Shelby, they will head out on the road to square off against Mark Twain at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.13 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
