Baseball Recap: Orestimba Takes a Loss

Orestimba had lost eight straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-20 to make it nine. They came up short against the Ripon Christian Knights, falling 11-1. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Knights when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Orestimba saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colby Cabral, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Ripon Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-9. Considering they have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Ripon Christian's side, they got a great performance from Mateo Ceja as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Ceja has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, Max Anderson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jordan Luisi was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ripon Christian beat Orestimba by a score of 17-4 on Thursday.
