Soccer Game Preview: Southeast Whitfield County vs. Cherokee

The Southeast Whitfield County Raiders will face off against the Cherokee Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Whitfield County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Southeast Whitfield County barely beat Cedartown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders blew past the Bulldogs 4-1 last Friday. Southeast Whitfield County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cherokee hadn't done well against Marietta recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. The Warriors' defense stepped up to hand the Blue Devils a 1-0 shutout. Given Cherokee's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Marietta are ranked 267th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cherokee's one-goal win came courtesy of Megan Kalaher, who's now up to two this season.

Southeast Whitfield County's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Cherokee, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Southeast Whitfield County couldn't quite get it done against Cherokee in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1.
