Baseball Recap: Cleveland Central Has No Trouble Against Greenville

Cleveland Central won the last time they faced Greenville and things went their way on Thursday too. Cleveland Central put the hurt on Greenville with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Anthony Stephens made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Cleveland Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-11 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Kenny Thomas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Western, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Cleveland Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenville only posted an OBP of .167.

Cleveland Central's record now sits at 4-12. As for Greenville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.
