West Warwick faced Ponaganset in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wizards walked away with a 5-1 win over the Chieftains. This was a revenge game for the Wizards: when they faced off against the Chieftains on Monday, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Anthony Burt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Jair Blanco and Nick Andruchow did most of the damage at the plate: Blanco went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Andruchow went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Luke Gallo, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

West Warwick is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Ponaganset, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10.
