Basketball Game Preview: Winamac Warriors vs. Rensselaer Central Bombers

Winamac hasn't had much luck against Rensselaer Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Winamac Warriors will face off against the Rensselaer Central Bombers at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Winamac didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against West Central, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory.

Winamac's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Will Malchow led the charge by going 7 for 9 en route to 17 points. What's more, Malchow also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brendan Hines, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Rensselaer Central lost to Hebron at home by a 70-55 margin on Saturday. The Bombers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Winamac has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Rensselaer Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Winamac took a serious blow against Rensselaer Central when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 73-34. Can Winamac avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
