Softball Recap: Ludlowe Triumphs

Ludlowe barely beat Westhill the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons' pitchers stepped up to hand the Vikings a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Scotto, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allie Tournas, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs.

Ludlowe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Ludlowe's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Westhill, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Ludlowe will head out to face off against McMahon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons are facing the Senators at the right time seeing as the Senators are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Westhill, they will welcome Notre Dame Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
