Josh Orozco Delivers Electric Performance Vs San Manuel
Starting off the list is Desert Heights Prep's Josh Orozco, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Orozco rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 85-yard run.
Orozco might have his next game, a home matchup with Maryvale Prep, circled on his calendar. When Orozco last faced the Matador back in October of 2023, he picked up 295 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Aaron Landers Turns in Season-Best Performance
Aaron Landers produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Bagdad to the win on Friday. Landers picked up 243 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards.
The victory (which was Bagdad's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Landers and Bagdad will face off against Mohave Accelerated at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Performance from Ezrah Aguilar Leads Bagdad over Salome
On Friday, Bagdad got the W thanks in part to Ezrah Aguilar playing the best football he has all season. Aguilar threw for 335 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 16.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 41 yards.
If the past is any indication, Aguilar could be in store for another big game when he takes on Mohave Accelerated on Friday. Aguilar rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 192 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes the last time he and the Patriots duked it out back in October of 2023.

Justin Aguon's Big Game Leads Desert Heights Prep over San Manuel
The second Desert Heights Prep player making an appearance here is Justin Aguon, and for good reason. He picked up 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 69 yards. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 50 yards.
For the year, Aguon has caught 6 touchdowns while averaging 91.7 receiving yards per game.

Bagdad Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Thomas Rodriguez
Bagdad picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Thomas Rodriguez. Rodriguez did his part (and then some), rushing for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while also catching a touchdown for the 'W'. He has been hot , having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played.
On the year, Rodriguez has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 27.6 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown. This year he is already up to 12.
