Basketball Recap: Jenna Miller and Madelyn Flock Secure Win for Maxwell

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Wildcats on Friday. The Maxwell Wildcats put the hurt on the Wallace Wildcats with a sharp 58-37 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Maxwell has posted against Wallace since January 25, 2020.

Maxwell was led to victory by Madelyn Flock and Jenna Miller. Flock went 6 of 15 en route to 21 points and five assists, while Miller posted 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Miller continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Emory Christensen was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Maxwell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Maxwell now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Wallace, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Looking ahead, Maxwell will be playing at home against Sutherland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wallace, they will venture away from home to face off against Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southwest has 18 straight victories, Wallace has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
