Basketball Recap: Timberlake Christian Comes Up Short

Timberlake Christian lost against Roanoke Valley Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Timberlake Christian Tornadoes fell 51-44 to the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES.

Roanoke Valley Christian was led to victory by Logan Gutierrez and Luke Somers. Gutierrez went 11-for-20 to rack up 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Somers went 6-for-15 on his way to 14 points in addition to six boards and six steals. Thanks to that strong game, Gutierrez now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Ethan Cummings, who posted three points and six rebounds.

Timberlake Christian's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Timberlake Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, they will challenge Dayspring Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Roanoke Valley Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
