Willcox and Arizona Lutheran Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Willcox had to settle for second. They lost 59-34 to the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes. The Cowboys' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Willcox lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Addison Burright, who posted 13 points. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Maddie Bennett was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Willcox smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive contests.

Lauren Riesop was a one-woman wrecking crew for Arizona Lutheran Academy as she shot 60% from beyond the arc to rack up 32 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Ohm, who earned ten points along with six assists and five boards.

Willcox's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.

Willcox does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-55 victory against Pima on the 18th.
