Softball Recap: West Lutheran Extends Winning Streak to Six

West Lutheran came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Mayer Lutheran Crusaders. Considering the Warriors have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

West Lutheran pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Mayer Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

West Lutheran has already played their next contest (against Lutheran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mayer Lutheran will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' game: after the Warriors face off against the Lancers, they'll take on Mayer Lutheran again at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
