Softball Recap: Langham Creek Beats Cypress Park for Their 11th Straight Win

Langham Creek waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cypress Park Tigers a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Lobos, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Karli Challburg made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kassidy Martinez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Izabella Amato-Ramirez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Langham Creek's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Cypress Park, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
