Basketball Game Preview: Craig Panthers vs. Wrangell Wolves

The Craig Panthers will take on the Wrangell Wolves on Friday. One thing working in Craig's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.

Craig is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Wrangell: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Craig blew Wrangell out of the water with a 65-37 final score. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 27 points or more this season.

Craig found their leader in sophomore Sara Steffen, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Steffen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsea Thompson, who posted 11 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Craig smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Craig's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Wrangell, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
