Softball Recap: Fertile-Beltrami Comes Up Short

If Fertile-Beltrami was feeling good fresh off their 25-13 takedown of Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons came up short against the Red Lake Falls Eagles on Thursday, falling 19-1. The Falcons have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Fertile-Beltrami saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Britta Sorenson, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Elly Gorder also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Fertile-Beltrami's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Red Lake Falls, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Fertile-Beltrami will square off against Kelliher/Northome at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Red Lake Falls, they will face off against Blackduck at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
