Baseball Recap: Prestonsburg Wins Going Away Against Floyd Central

Prestonsburg won against Floyd Central last Thursday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Prestonsburg blew past Floyd Central 8-1. That looming 8-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blackcats yet this season.

Luke Hall was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Prestonsburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Floyd Central struck out 12 times.

The win was the third in a row for Prestonsburg, bringing their record up to 3-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Floyd Central, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Prestonsburg will face off against IMG Academy White at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Floyd Central, they will take on Padua Franciscan at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
