Volleyball Recap: Ritchie County Comes Up Short

Ritchie County was the 3-2 winner over St. Marys when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rebels took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils on Tuesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 25-12.

Alyssa Winland was nothing short of spectacular for St. Marys: she had 35 digs and two aces. Those 35 digs gave Winland a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hallie Lucas, who had four aces, three digs, and one block.

Ritchie County's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for St. Marys, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8-1.

Ritchie County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Braxton County on the 2nd. As for St. Marys, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Fort Frye on the 2nd.
