Preview: Tombstone Yellow Jackets vs. Pima Roughriders
After three games on the road, Tombstone is heading back home. They will take on the Pima Roughriders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Even though Tombstone has not done well against Bisbee recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Tombstone blew past Bisbee, posting a 63-31 victory on the road.
Among those leading the charge was Rachel Thursby, who scored 23 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Tombstone's points. Another player making a difference was Emma Rivera, who scored 14 points along with 6 steals.
Meanwhile, Pima put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 57-34 margin over Valley. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-11.
The losses dropped Tombstone to 3-2 and Bisbee to 3-4.
Tombstone took a serious blow against Pima in their previous meeting back in January, falling 76-15. Thankfully for Tombstone, Ashlynn Chlarson (who scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
