Softball Preview: Goodpasture Christian Cougars vs. Davidson Academy Bears        
        
		
            The Goodpasture Christian Cougars will venture away from home to  take on the Davidson Academy Bears  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Goodpasture Christian put up the most  runs they have all season  on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Ezell-Harding Christian as they made off with  a  16-8 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Cougars.

 Hope Brown made a splash no matter where she played. She  pitched six innings while giving up  four earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Laura Beth Blessing, who  went 3-for-5 with one  home run, four  runs,  and two  stolen bases. She has been hot recently, having  posted three or more  hits the last three times she's  played.  Brooklyn Jones was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.
 Goodpasture Christian  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile, Davidson Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Saints  a   24-0 shutout. Considering the Bears have won six matchups by more than five  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Davidson Academy's victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 10-4. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Goodpasture Christian, the  victory was their first  on the road , bumping their record up to 5-9.
 Goodpasture Christian couldn't quite finish off Davidson Academy when the teams last played  back in March and fell  6-4. Can the Cougars avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
