Volleyball Recap: Herriman Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Mountain Ridge

Herriman faced Mountain Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Sentinels, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Sentinels: they've now lost five in a row.

While Herriman was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than McKynlee Miller, who had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Miller has posted over her last ten contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Ryan, who had 14 digs and three assists.

Herriman's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-7. As for Mountain Ridge, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-3.

Herriman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Bingham on the 25th. As for Mountain Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Copper Hills on the 25th.
