Joliet West had already won ten in a row and they went ahead and made it 11 on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Joliet Central Steelmen. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Joliet West not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Joliet Central between 19 and 21 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19.

Drew Johnson paced Joliet West's offense, picking up ten kills. Johnson got some help from Nolan Fellows and his 17 assists. Davide Giambagli controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the defeat, Joliet Central saw an underclassman step up: freshman Luis Zurita had eight digs and two assists.

Joliet West's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-8. As for Joliet Central, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-18.

Looking ahead, Joliet West will be taking part in a tournament against Lincoln-Way East at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Joliet Central, they will be playing at home against Plainfield North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
