Basketball Recap: Bishop Kenny Extends Winning Streak to Eight

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bishop Kenny had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They really took it to the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-18 win. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Bishop Kenny to victory were Kathleen Crawley and Abby Baker. Crawley went 7-for-11 on her way to 18 points and five boards, while Baker went 5-for-6 en route to 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Crawley's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Elle Deegan, who posted ten points.

The victory (which was Bishop Kenny's eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points over those games. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Bishop Kenny nor Paxon School For Advanced Studies have any future games scheduled.
