Meanwhile, Tremont waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Panthers.
Like Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, Tremont also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddie Feagin. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Feagin has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
Feagin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Genesis Stuber, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.
Tremont's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Tremont struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
