Soccer Game Preview: Pickerington Central vs. St. Charles

The Pickerington Central Tigers will head out to take on the St. Charles Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pickerington Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pickerington Central faced off against Hilliard Davidson on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Pickerington Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 308th, while Hilliard Davidson are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, St. Charles hasn't lost a match since September 9th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand St. Francis DeSales a 2-0 shutout.

St. Charles is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those eight matchups. As for Pickerington Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-2.
