Softball Game Preview: Pinelands Regional Wildcats vs. Howell Rebels

The Pinelands Regional Wildcats will face off against the Howell Rebels at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinelands Regional's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Howell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Pinelands Regional earned a 6-1 win over Monmouth Regional.

Rory Krier looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Hannah Theuret was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cali Peterka, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Howell won against Freehold Township on Thursday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Rebels put the hurt on Matawan Regional with a sharp 12-1 victory. Considering the Rebels have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Pinelands Regional's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Howell, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.
