Irvine won the last time they faced Sage Hill and things went their way on Monday too. The Vaqueros came out on top against the Lightning by a score of 5-1.

Irvine's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Featherston, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Featherston has posted since back in March. Alex Cho was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Irvine has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sage Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Irvine will have a chance to go back-to-back against Sage Hill: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
