Basketball Recap: Beach Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Beach won the last time they faced Islands, and Jayden Newton did his part to make sure it happened again. The Beach Bulldogs took down the Islands Sharks 64-48 on Friday thanks in part to Newton, who went 8 for 14 en route to 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Beach's points.

Christian Barrett was another key player, putting up three points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals gave him a new career-high.

Beach's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8. As for Islands, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Beach has already played their next contest, a 55-41 victory against Jenkins on the 14th. As for Islands, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-54 win against Memorial Day on the 11th.
