Basketball Recap: Cornwall Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Liberty last Friday, Cornwall Central came back down to earth. The Cornwall Central Dragons fell 64-56 to the Minisink Valley Warriors on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dragons came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Warriors are ranked 766th).

Cornwall Central has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season. As for Minisink Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-16.

Coming up, Cornwall Central will host Goshen Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Minisink Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Monticello at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Minisink Valley is facing Monticello at the right time seeing as Monticello is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
