Football Game Preview: Garretson vs. Hamlin

Hamlin may have come out ahead in their last match, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will challenge Garretson on the road at 7:00 PM on Thursday. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.

Last Friday, Hamlin had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 21-7 victory over Clark/Willow Lake. Junior Nash Grantham was the offensive standout of the match for Hamlin, as he picked up 51 yards on the ground and threw 2 TDs. That makes it seven straight good games in a row from Grantham.

Meanwhile, Garretson faced Canistota/Freeman in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Garretson enjoyed a cozy 42-22 win over Canistota/Freeman. The win was familiar territory for Garretson, who now have eight in a row.

Hamlin suffered a grim 6-34 defeat to Garretson the last time the two teams met. The defeat knocked Hamlin out of the playoffs, so expect them to come at Garretson with a vengeful fire.
