Basketball Game Preview: West Fork Tigers vs. Lamar Warriors

The West Fork Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Lamar Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Fork is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They took down Providence Academy 52-34.

Meanwhile, Lamar had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.1 points) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 54-32 margin over the Tigers. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Tigers are ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lamar's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points over those games. As for West Fork, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.

West Fork was dealt a bruising 60-27 loss at the hands of Lamar in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Can West Fork avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
