Volleyball Recap: Crofton Comes Up Short

Crofton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Bobcats, falling 3-0. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Crofton was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-22, 27-25.

Jaisie Janssen paced Crofton's offense, picking up 17 kills. Janssen got some help from Emma Kuchta and her 27 assists. Janssen also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jaylynn Panning, racking up two apiece.

Crofton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crofton will venture away from home to take on Wisner-Pilger at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], they will challenge Stanton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
