Basketball Game Preview: Norwayne Bobcats vs. Mapleton Mounties

Norwayne is a perfect 3-0 against Mapleton since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bobcats will head out to challenge the Mounties at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Norwayne has five wins , while Mapleton has six dating back to last season).

Norwayne is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 65-27 win over Smithville. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 26 points or more this season.

Ava Maibach and Hannah Froelich were among the main playmakers for Norwayne as the former dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten assists and the latter dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. Maibach's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Makenna Heyden, who posted six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Mapleton took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 56-14 victory over Plymouth. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Mounties this season.

Mapleton's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Norwayne, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Everything came up roses for Norwayne against Mapleton in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 55-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
