Volleyball Recap: Pine Bluffs Takes Down Big Piney in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pine Bluffs had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Big Piney Punchers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Punchers: they've now won four in a row.

Hattie Lerwick paced Pine Bluffs' offense, picking up 12 kills. Lerwick got some help from Avery Gray and her 13 assists. Lerwick was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Pine Bluffs' victory bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Big Piney, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Pine Bluffs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Tongue River on the 8th. Big Piney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
