Preview: Hardaway Hawks vs. Columbus Blue Devils
Hardaway is 10-0 against Columbus since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hardaway Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Columbus Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Hardaway's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Trinity Christian by a score of 79-68.
Among those leading the charge was Mekhi Benton, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Brown, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Columbus at home against Lanett on Saturday as the team secured a 71-36 victory. With Columbus ahead 41-18 at the half, the match was all but over already.
The win got Hardaway back to even at 3-3. As for Columbus, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.
Hardaway took their win against Columbus when the teams last played back in November by a conclusive 70-50. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Columbus' Robert Hartford, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Hardaway still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
