Football Game Preview: Oxford Pirates vs. Quabbin Regional Panthers + Official Tickets

The Oxford Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Quabbin Regional Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Quabbin Regional took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Oxford, who comes in off a win.

Oxford lost a heartbreaker the last time they played St. Paul, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's matchup. The Pirates blew past the Knights 34-0 on Saturday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Pirates just coasted through the last quarter.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Quabbin Regional duked it out with West Boylston/Tahanto on Friday. The Panthers had to suffer through a 48-3 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Lions are ranked 63rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Quabbin Regional and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Oxford, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Oxford didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Quabbin Regional in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with an 18-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
