Preview: Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles vs. Four Corners Coyotes
After two games on the road, Calvary Chapel Academy is heading back home. They will take on The Four Corners Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Calvary Chapel Academy faced Geneva in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Calvary Chapel Academy breezed by Geneva on the road to the tune of 55-18. With Calvary Chapel Academy ahead 41-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Isaiah Soliz and Kaleb Steiger were among the main playmakers for Calvary Chapel Academy as the former threw for 233 yards and six touchdowns on only 17 passes and the latter picked up 172 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Soliz hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Payton Baker, who gained 60 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Four Corners entered their tilt with City of Life Christian Academy with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Four Corners really took it to City of Life Christian Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-20 victory on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Four Corners' two-point performance the matchup before.
Calvary Chapel Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Four Corners, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Calvary Chapel Academy might still be hurting after the 32-8 defeat they got from Four Corners when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Calvary Chapel Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
