Softball Recap: Combs Comes Up Short

Combs's tournament run continued when they took on Wickenburg on Friday. Combs lost 21-3 to Wickenburg. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Combs saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Melissa Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Combs hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Combs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Wickenburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Combs didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-16 win against Dysart on the 24th. As for Wickenburg, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-5 victory against Tempe on the 21st.
