Recap: Paw Paw Pirates vs. Mountain View Christian Academy Conquerors
Even though the Paw Paw Pirates have not done well against the Mountain View Christian Academy Conquerors recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Everything went Paw Paw's way against Mountain View Christian Academy as Paw Paw made off with a 55-33 victory. For Paw Paw, this counts as revenge for the 67-44 defeat Mountain View Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2015.
Donavan Tanouye was a one-man wrecking crew for Paw Paw as he dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten steals. Another player making a difference was Dre Heath, who scored 13 points.
Several Conquerors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devin Michael, who scored ten points. The contest was Michael's third in a row with at least ten points. Landon Demko was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Paw Paw's victory was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.33 points. As for Mountain View Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paw Paw won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Union at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Mountain View Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Massanutten Military Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Massanutten Military Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
