Soccer Game Preview: Glenbard South vs. West Chicago

The Glenbard South Raiders will challenge the West Chicago Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenbard South's last six contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Glenbard South's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They skirted past Riverside-Brookfield 1-0. Given Glenbard South's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Riverside-Brookfield are ranked 242nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, West Chicago and Glenbard East finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday.

West Chicago's draw gives them a new season record of 4-5-5. As for Glenbard South, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3-6.

Glenbard South skirted past West Chicago 1-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
