Basketball Recap: Rocky Mount Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

If Faith Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Rocky Mount Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Hank Berry. The Rocky Mount Academy Eagles came out on top against the Faith Christian Patriots by a score of 61-53 on Friday thanks in part to Berry, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Honey, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Faith Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was NOAH MAYO, who posted 18 points. JOSH PARKER was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Rocky Mount Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Faith Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Rocky Mount Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lawrence Academy at 8:00 p.m. As for Faith Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pungo Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th.
