The Kirkwood Cobras will venture away from home to face off against the Milan Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kirkwood will be strutting in after a victory while Milan will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Kirkwood turned things around against Todd County Central on Friday. They put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 12-2 win. The Cobras not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 8th (when they won 21-3).

Cole Johnson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mathew Dirks was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Andruw West also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Milan's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 11-4 to Henry County.

Milan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Milligan, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Milan's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Kirkwood, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-15.
