Baseball Game Preview: Denison Yellow Jackets vs. Walnut Grove Wildcats

The Denison Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to challenge the Walnut Grove Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Denison has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Denison fell victim to Creekview and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 12-0. The Yellow Jackets just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Denison saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Bustillos, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Jayden McClain also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Walnut Grove can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game last Friday. They and Alamo Heights finished up on equal footing with a 6-6 tie. One positive for the Wildcats, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Denison's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. With that tie, Walnut Grove's record moves to 0-3-1.
