Basketball Game Preview: McLaurin Tigers vs. St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints

McLaurin is 2-8 against St. Andrew's Episcopal since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Saints at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, McLaurin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-47 to South Jones.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was TY Williams, who posted 20 points. Williams is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Isaac Davidson was another key player, putting up eight points and 14 boards.

Meanwhile, St. Andrew's Episcopal waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Warriors, posting a 63-21 victory. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

McLaurin's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything went McLaurin's way against St. Andrew's Episcopal in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as McLaurin made off with a 70-48 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
