Softball Recap: Hillsboro Takes a Loss

Hillsboro lost against Jersey back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hiltoppers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Hiltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Briley Kirby was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Greenwood, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Hillsboro's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Jersey, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3-1.

Hillsboro and Jersey will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Hiltoppers will challenge rival Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Jersey is set to square off against their familiar foe Civic Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
