Basketball Recap: Tyler Lusk's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Walhalla over Crescent

Walhalla fought the good fight in their overtime game against Crescent on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Crescent Tigers 76-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (57), the Razorbacks still had to take the loss.

Several Razorbacks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Lusk, who went 7 of 15 en route to 21 points. Lusk's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jack Williams, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 20 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crescent to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jas'Yiah Davis, who posted 22 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Philip Deveaux, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points and eight assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Walhalla and nudges their season record down to 5-13. As for Crescent, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.

Walhalla has already played their next matchup, a 54-48 loss against Pendleton on the 14th. As for Crescent, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-54 win against West-Oak on the 14th.
